Adderall Banned in Canada
Health Canada has ordered Adderall off of Canadian shelves after evaluating evidence linking at least fourteen deaths to the popular ADD-ADHD prescription drug.
Shire Pharma, producer of Adderall, has stated that it disagrees with the Canadian authority’s decision and is unwilling to concede any link between the ADD-ADHD medication and the deaths. A spokesperson for the company said “We have confidence in the safety and efficacy of Adderall XR.”
U.S. authorities forced a relabeling of the drug after evidence related to the deaths was available. The U.S., however, has not yet acted to end the distribution of Adderall.
