Quick Eye Test May Diagnose ADD-ADHD

British researchers have announced the development of a ten-minute eye test they claim is 93% accurate in diagnosing attention deficit and attention deficit hyperactivity disorders.  The test, which involves tracking a dot on a computer screen, is based upon the discovery that those with ADD-ADHD exhibit an erratic eye movement pattern.

Although some question the test’s value, one of the researchers involved considers it a major breakthrough.  According to Professor George Pavlidis:

"Early diagnosis of these very important hereditary conditions will allow effective intervention and proper treatment, which in turn will reduce the learning, the behavioural and the painful secondary psychological problems of the children.”
